In February 2024, I founded Heckles in Eccles, a monthly comedy night in my adopted hometown of Eccles. The aim was simple: create a consistent platform for live comedy in an area that didn’t have one — while developing my craft as a host through regular stage time.

Since launching, I’ve hosted the night every month, building experience in crowd work, room control, pacing, and handling everything from first-timers to seasoned acts. The night provides a supportive environment for newer comedians to test material and refine established routines, and has developed a loyal local audience in the process.

For its first two years, Heckles in Eccles was based at The Northern Type, where it established a strong reputation and regular following. Following venue changes, the night now enters a new chapter at The Lamb Hotel.

And in July 2026, as a spin-off to Heckles in Eccles, I launched The Lamb Hotel Comedy Festival. A series of Work in Progress shows of up-and-coming comedians heading to the Edinburgh Fringe. Every Thursday in July featured 2 shows back to back. I went well with coverage in SalfordNow as well as audiences averaging around the 30 mark.
